On Thursday 23 rd April 2009 the Cooley Credit Union Races took place at Bush Track. A big thanks to all the schools for taking part and to the Cooley Credit Union for their continued sponsorship of this very successful athletics night.

Sprints were the first events with various heats for the classes. The results for the sprints finals were as follows:

5 th class boys : 1 st Thomas McGuinness, 2 nd Cathal Quinn, Monksland, 3 rd Ben McGroarty, St.Olivers. 6 th class girls : Anna McKenna, Rathcor, 2 nd Aoife Connor, Lordship, 3 rd Gabriella Jonaityt, Monksland. 6 th class boys: 1 st Oisin Byrne, Dulargy, 2 nd Fiachra Malone, Rathcor, 3 rd Ronan Ferguson, Mullaghbuoy

This was followed by the 600metres. 4 th class girls : 1 st Jessica Moore, Dulargy, 2 nd Aine Keenan, Rampark, 3 rd , Olivia Traynor, Bellurgan. 4 th class boys : 1 st Michael Carron, Muchgrange, 2 nd Leonard Grey, Dulargy, 3 rd James O'Reilly, Mullaghbuoy. 5 th class girls: 1 st Maria MacArtain, Lordship, 2 nd Emily McCann, Mullaghbuoy, 3 rd Eilish McMahon, Lordship. 5 th class boys : 1 st Emmet Hughes, Faughart, 2 nd Martin Joe McCarragher, Muchgrange, 3 rd Daniel Rice, Rampark. 6 th class girls : 1 st Nicola Fearon, Ardaghey, 2 nd Kim Murphy, Lordship, 3 rd Kate Ryan, Mullaghbuoy. 6 th class boys : 1 st Daire Lafferty, Dulargy, 2 nd Patrick Keenan, Lordship, 3 rd Niall McGuinness, St.Olivers.

The girls relay was won by Dulargy, followed by Lordship and St.Olivers. Whilst the boys relay was won by Rampark, followed by Dulargy and Muchgrange. First prize for the Banners went to Bellurgan, 2 nd to Carlingford and 3 rd to Lordship.

The following are the Ball Throw results: 1 st class girls : 1 st Molly Hughes, Carlingford, 2 nd Rebecca Woods, Carlingford, 3 rd Louise Rooney, Carlingford. 1 st class boys : 1 st Diarmuid O'Neill, Mullaghbuoy, 2 nd Conor Graham, Mullaghbuoy, 3 rd Aaron Ralph, Faughart. 2 nd class girls: 1 st Leah Finnegan, Monksland, 2 nd Aimee Farnon, Mullaghbuoy, 3 rd Clare Savage, Mullaghbuoy. 2 nd class boys : 1 st Declan Hulme, Bellurgan, 2 nd Paul Loughran, Faughart, 3 rd Jamie Conlon, Faughart. 3 rd class girls : 1 st Rebecca Keenan, Bellurgan, 2 nd Katie Cumisky, Dulargy, 3 rd Sarah McEnaney, Rampark. 3 rd class boys : 1 st Joseph Quinn, Muchgrange, 2 nd Dylan McCarthy, Dulargy, 3 rd Brian Quinn, Monksland.

The long jump results are as follows: 5 th class girls: 1 st Niamh White, Rathcor, 2 nd Sarah McAdam, St.Olivers, 3 rd Katie mCCollum, Dulargy. 5 th class boys: 1 st Mark Barry, Mullaghbuoy, 2 nd Cormac Barry, Mullaghbuoy, 3 rd Cian Duffy, Dulargy.

6 th class girls: 1 st Cathy McKeown, Dulargy, 2 nd Shauna O'Hare, Bellurgan, 3 rd Laoise Meek, Bellurgan. 6 th class boys: 1 st Daniel Finley, Bellurgan, 2 nd Joe McParland, Dulargy, 3 rd Jordan Donnelly, Rampark.

The overall winners of the large schools category and thus winners of the Jim Savage Cup were Dulargy followed in 2 nd place by Rampark and 3 rd Carlingford. The Liam Clifford Shield for small schools was won by Mullaghbuoy, 2 nd Rathcor and 3 rd Ardaghy.
