Welcome to Glenmore Athletic Club - B championship Lough Key Page

 

Trip to All-Ireland B Championships in Lough Key Forest Park, Co. Roscommon on 25 th January 2009

Thirty five Glenmore athletes travelled to the All-Ireland B Championships in Lough Key Forest Park, Co. Roscommon on January 25 th . The bus, courtesy of the ever charming driver, Kevin, left the peninsula on Saturday and proceeded to Ballaghaderreen. Thanks to the Abbeyfield hotel which accommodated us and provided a delicious dinner.

Sunday proved to be a cold but sunny day. U11 girls: Maria MacArtain, Aine Keenan, Amy Hallahan, Jesica Moore, Aoife Lynn and Rachel O'Hare ran 800 metres admirably.

Michael Carron, James O'Reilly, Cathal Quinn, Martin Joe McCarragher, Tadhg Leahy and Henry Malone represented the club well in the boys U11 800 metres.

U13 girls Aine Breen, Naoimh Murray, Nicola Fearon and Kim Murphy won individual medals whilst Emma Shields, Cathy MckKeown, Sarah O'Reilly, Mary Rose McCarragher, Shauna O'Hare and Eimear O' Connor ran well. This girls U13 team also won gold medals for the Club with 28 points and gold for the County along with a Boyne AC and a Blackrock AC athlete. Well done to all the girls on a superb performance.

U13 boys Ruairi MacArtain, Patrick Keenan and Niall Farrell gave a spirited performance.

Niall O'Reilly and Jonathan Lynn came 5 th and 10 th to win individual medals and along with Cormac and Shane McGinn, Ryan Malone and Thomas Keenan came home to win bronze county medals.

Stephen Bradley represented the club in the boys U17 race whilst Ronnie Murray came home 5 th in the boys U19 5000metres.

Congrats again to U13 girls and U15 boys on a superb performance at the All-Ireland B Championships in Roscommon on the 25 th January last.

Training continues every Tuesday and Thursday from 7-8pm. All registration monies due to be submitted to registrations secretary Caroline Carron. Any clubs/groups wishing to book the track must contact a club member on training nights.
