Louth championship on Sunday 5 th October in Beaulieu, Termonfeckin.

Glenmore athletes travelled to the ‘even ages' Louth championship on Sunday 5 th October in Beaulieu, Termonfeckin. It proved to be a successful outing for the club. U10 girls got fourth team place thanks to Aine Keenan, Niamh Rice, and an excellent first outing for the club by Leah Kirwan and Georga Hanlon. The U10 boys had nine athletes, led home by James O'Reilly, 1 st , Tadhg Leahy, 3 rd , Leonard Grey and Brian Quinn who won first team medals. Newcomers to the club, Michael and Andrew McDonald with Peter Suresh and Paudie Ryan won 3 rd team medals and Eoghan Keenan O'Connor who finished strongly. Kim Murphy came in 3 rd to lead the girls U12 to 2 nd team place with Cathy McKeown, Maria MacArtain and Kate Ryan. Joanne McGinn, Mary Rose Carragher, Aoife Lynn, Amy O'Halloran also finished strongly and congratulations to Claire O'Hanlon on her first impressive outing for the club. 2 nd team place also went to the Boys U12 team of Patrick Keenan, Michael Carron, Martin Joe Carragher and Cathal Quinn. Patrick Keenan took the bronze medal.

Anna McKenna, Eimear O'Connor, Niamh Murray and Aine Breen won 3 rd team prize for the girls U14 whilst the boys U14, Shane McGinn, Ruairi MacArtain and Tomas Keenan had a great, tough race. Sinead McDonald had another great win in the girls U16 race. There was a very exciting finish to the boys U16 race with Aaron Hollywood in first and Kevin Murray in 3 rd position. Jonathan Lynn and Cormac McGinn finished strongly thus winning the boys first team place. Colin Murphy ran a brave race in the U18 boys and brought home the silver medal. Congratulations to all athletes who participated. Athletes who got placed will go on to represent the club in the Leinsters. Looking forward to next weeks running event, which has been changed to a new venue in Boyne AC in Drogheda where races will be run according to ‘uneven ages'. Glenmore will be hosting the Kearney and McBride Cup on the 19 th of October. Glenmore abú!
